After Radovid becomes king, he chooses to do the right thing by putting the needs of his people first, and trying to convince Dijkstra and Philippa to collaborate with him; while using Jaskier's contacts in Oxenfurt to anonymously send him some money to help finance Ciri's rescue efforts.
Once they finally find Ciri, Jaskier, Geralt, and Yennefer all go back into hiding to keep her safe, while Dijkstra and Philippa - having inceasingly grown tired of their new king's idealism - start spreading rumors among the Redanian nobility that the king “hasn’t been himself lately”, that there’s been growing concerns about his mental health and safety, and that they should be very wary of listening to him or following his orders without first consulting with the newly formed Regency Council.
They blame a certain bard's influence for his "brainwashing", and start looking into “contingency plans”, should that bard hire assassins to come after the king.
With the help of a few people that have known him since he was a child and remained loyal to him, Radovid manages to change his physical appearance and escapes.
Jaskier hears the news and goes to find him, but Radovid has been severely injured on the road...

There was no emotion in her eyes, no longing, no regret, no love.
She looked at him, but her lilac eyes were cold, their usual spark missing.
Instead, she remained stoic under his touch. His apprehension grew at that, and he drew his hand back as if she had burned him.
“Yen?”, he asked, an edge to his voice as his heart sank.

This is a modern au where Yennefer and Geralt live in the same apartment building, but have not met - Yen’s cat helps with an introduction.
A few months pass and Geralt is left as guardian to a three-year-old Ciri, chaos ensues as they try to work out how to raise her together. Idk, it's adorable and very found family heavy.
I would say its more based on the show than the games/books. Though I have read/played all of them, the show was my main inspiration to write.

Geralt's muscles heave backwards, flinging him down against the bed. He tries to struggle upwards but it feels like he’s been buried beneath a mountain. Every inch of him is pressed completely still. His eyes close, and he’s left in the dark with nothing but his racing heart for company. He’s not tired, he’s never been less tired. But the curse wants him to sleep, it seems. It’ll force him to lie here until he does. How much of his life will it start to control, now that he’s declared war against it? Now that he knows it’s lurking in his bones, now that it doesn’t have to be subtle?
He swallows. Takes a long, deep breath, gathering every bit of courage he has to stop himself from slipping back into panic. He still has control over his lungs. He still has that.
For now.
(Or: Witchers don't retire. They stay on the Path until it kills them. They hunt monsters and they want nothing from life. This isn't exactly by choice.)

Summary
OK this series has been going on for 2 years now and I should summarize it better.
The first part is several decades of, largely, Geralt and Jaskier's interactions, as they both fumble together toward some kind of meaningful understanding. That section largely concludes with a Jaskier/Geralt/Yennefer endgame.Then there's a time jump, and the series picks up after the events of the Witcher 3 games. I follow Lambert as he copes with grief, and Keira as she learns new things about herself, and the lives they make.
I decided to tell the story of how Ciri became Empress after W3, which intersects with Keira and Lambert's adventures; I read the books somewhere in this and got invested in some of the themes they brought up. And entangled with this, I got interested in the politics of the North, especially the Upper Aedirn Free State and the threads laid down in the Witcher 2 game that didn't exactly get resolved in Witcher 3, and so I have several stories dealing with that thread, which will intersect with the other stories in the same timeline.
