Summary
The horse's iridescent purple blood flooded the pavement and soaked through Tommy's jeans, leaving stains that he knew wasn't going to come out no matter what he did. Tommy could dimly hear Dream ranting in the background about how he was going to get arrested and about how he wasn't going to get the premotion he had been working towards ever since he took in Tommy. But the only thing that had Tommy's undivided attention in that moment was the golden horn on the horse's forehead, it pulsed with light and energy and life, and Tommy couldn't control the impulse to touch it.
(Death of a Unicorn is one of my favorite movies and I firmly believe it deserves more recognition. I watched it last night and had a massive amount of brain rot)

Tommyinnit, who has recently just found his makings and way of life semi-out of foster care and into his “temporary” (he usually likes to say) home with the Watson’s, who has taken him in just five months ago, was going fine.
Everything has been fine, really. His foster brothers have been nothing but accepting (annoying, but still accepting), and his foster father has truly been a wonder to how… nice and soft he can be towards a scrapy kid like Tommy.
Which in itself is rather weird.
Again, everything has been great! That was… Until his good friend Tubbo came to him with the news of the notorious Dream needing back exactly three hundred quid that Tubbo had used…
And by Friday, to be exact.

Phil would literally kill him if he brought this kid back. The Syndicate was already spread so thin on supplies, with Aimsey recovering from freezing, and Ranboo and Wilbur recovering from the bounty hunters. Not to mention the fact that Billiam III could be on their tail now. Either way, he yanked off his scarf and pressed it to the wound. The kid cried out in pain, nails digging into Techno's hand.
“Don’t look at it. What’s your name?” Techno asked, attempting to scoop the kid up while still holding pressure on the gunshot.
“Tommy.” He said. Tommy passed out before they even left the house.

“What happened?” He found himself asking, his voice smoothing out into a honey-like drip.
“I- I did somethin’ bad, real bad. I can’t- Please. Please, sir, just- just fucking kill me. I can’t do this, I just- Please!” With every passing second, the kid grew more desperate, scared even.

Not Tubbo, who can’t keep a secret to save his life and would probably blurt it out between bites of toast. Not the oracle with the clammy, corpse-pale hands who smells of grave dirt and always wants to “have a look” at his bones. And certainly not the strange new neighbour who has moved into Tommy’s unclaimed house near the woods.
Don’t whistle after dark. Don’t follow lights in the fen. Don’t let them see the wolf in your eyes.
Too bad Technoblade doesn’t agree with that.

It wasn't strange for the Craft household to be woken up by screaming.
The nightmares had gotten less frequent in the year and a half they'd had Tommy - going from nightly to once or twice a month - but they were never easier. Tommy wouldn't even wake up fully, sometimes, screaming until his throat was raw with his eyes open but glassy, still trapped in the nightmare world his brain had created.
They always got worse around this time of year, though. When the winters were long, and the anniversary of Tommy's mother's death rolled around.
"Hey buddy," Phil whispered, settling himself on the bed as Tommy sobbed quietly, his stuffed cow Henry clutched tightly, "It's okay, I'm here now baby, I'm here."
