Stiles thought it would be easy doing janitorial work for an office. At first, it really was. The job only took a few hours in the evenings and it helped pay for rent and college. Sure, Hale Industries took up an entire floor in one of the downtown financial buildings, but the place was new and easy to care for. He didn’t even have to spend much time cleaning the huge corner office, because the trash was nearly always empty and the office itself was spotless, like no one used it.
It was basically the perfect college job. At least, until the boss started staying late.

“Weed hits harder if you smoke in a car versus in a room.”
“So?
Stiles groans. “So, if I take off my shirt won’t my, uh, smell scent whatever just fill the room and be weaker? You need it concentrated, right?”
Instead of going apeshit at the suggestion that he, Mr. Perfect, could ever need anything, Jackson just puts his claws away, thank god. “You are so fucking weird.”
Jackson ducks down and, woah there, that’s a face nuzzling his happy trail. Something in his stomach swoops and Stiles tries to flinch back.
He really should have thought this through a bit more, huh.

Summary
Stiles is snatched from his college dorm room and forced to undergo a series of "hunts" to amuse his kidnapper--as prey, of course. Stiles gets free eventually and runs into Derek, who has been self-exiled in the same rural nature preserve after Laura's murder.
But because the kidnapper has played so many mind games with him, Stiles isn't a hundred percent sure Derek isn't the kidnapper and murderer himself. Realizing the danger Stiles is in, Derek commits himself to earning Stiles' trust... because getting Stiles into a cramped car with a maybe yes, maybe no serial killer is going to require a lot more than earnest promises from a stranger.
They get a lot closer than that.
