Summary
Lucius loves Pete. Like really loves Pete. And Pete is just the sweetest.
Then there’s Fang, who despite his larger stature and tough countenance, is also gentle and kind to Lucius.
In fact, during his time on The Revenge, the entire crew had treated Lucius with more care and thought than he could remember ever receiving in his entire life. Even Izzy just wants to yell at him and make him do chores, but…he never lays a hand on the boy. Once he and Jim had come to an understanding, and minus one medically necessary finger, no one on the crew had ever wanted to hurt a hair on the scribe's little head.
And therein lay Lucius’ problem, so he sets out to find what he needs. Though of course he has no idea what that actually is, he's determined to figure it out. All the while his lovers and friends watch and worry.
10/9/23 Edit: So I'm going back through and editing some previous chapters, nothing major, just some grammar and formatting that's been bothering me on some of the older ones. Then I plan to continue! New season has me absolutely feral.

Ned leans over the back of the chair, looming over Stede, tracing a hand over his shoulder. "You love him," Ned says, and as he does, Edward realizes it's true—this something that's been growing between them? Love is the only word for it.
"You're going to watch," Ned spits, absolutely furious. "He'll break, over and over, and only when he's begging for death will I grant him mercy—a mercy you never offered."
Ned attacks the Revenge, painting his grief for all to see. But is it the record he's mourning? Or something else entirely?

“The crew’s sort of worried about me,” Lucius asks, “aren’t they?” He nestles his head in the crook of Pete’s throat and shoulder. “It’s sort of funny, don’t you think?”
“I think they’re really worried about you,” Pete points out. “I think you got stabbed and they’re really freaking out, probably. Because that’s kind of a really scary thing, and everybody really loves you here, and they don’t want anything to happen to you.” He hesitates, then adds, “I— I think.”
Lucius lifts his head just enough to meet Pete’s eyes. Apparently he likes what he finds there, because he says, “Aw,” and kisses him on the chin before nuzzling back into him, holding him tighter, closer, pulling Pete’s arms around him.

Now that S2 dropped, this is now officially Canon Divergence. What if Lucius was the one to reunite Ed and Stede? Consider this the happier timeline for Lucius. It's still intense. He goes through some stuff. But in the end, Lucius gets all the comfort and happiness he deserves (and the dads end up back together). Also, I'm SUPER proud of the Lucius-Pete reunion in this.
